E and E are looking to recruit an SEN Teaching Assistant for our SEND school, in the Leigh Area.

The School is an Independent Special School registered for 84 pupils aged 4–18-year-olds, operating across two bespoke equipped modern sites in Leigh. Our young people could be Autistic Individuals and/or have Social Emotional or Mental Health needs. We are a nurturing Therapeutic Trauma Informed School providing a supportive environment with Family Support for all our young people.

The Team is led by a very experienced qualified Teacher and overseen by our Operations Lead. The Team will consist of 7 or 8 Team Members eventually all working together collaboratively supporting each other, meeting 3 to 4 times a week either onsite or virtually. Weekly training will be given plus other CPD opportunities and access to OFG’s own Talent and Learning Department. We provide and fund several Career Development Programmes including TA to Teacher Training, whilst in the role. The Team is supported by our Pastoral Team. Also supported by our in-house Therapy Team of Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapist, Speech and Language Therapist, Therapy Assistant and an Assistant Psychologist.

The role could involve:

Supporting the teacher.

One to one pupil support.

Extra lessons in brakes to support pupils.

Support trips and activities.

The desired outcome of Teaching assistant is to help young people is develop the confidence, emotional intelligence, resilience, self -esteem and self-regulation skills to be able to reintegrate into full time onsite school life at The School.
